the second look.

Look two consists of a two piece jumpsuit made from naturally dyed, second hand canvas. The material was dyed using black bean for an initial blue base that was then shifted to a speckled green by playing with acids and the base of baking soda. The jumpsuit separates at the waist, shoulders and bodice side seams by buttons allowing for a top and bottom possibility as well as a single strap option. The versatility mimics the adaptability and resourcefulness of nomadic individuals in their local environments. These elements allow the wearer to gain the most comfort out of their garment through variations for it to be worn.

The bag is created from second hand fabric and was waxed with a beeswax to achieve more durability and to pay homage to the Baaka tribe of the Central Africa’s Republic’s honey extraction methods. The bag can be worn as a sacked tote or can be drawn shut and carried by handles.
