the fifth look.
Look five consists of a tunic style dress inspired by the African Boubou tunics, an oversized and convertible jacket and a layered, long sleeve undershirt. The tunic is made of an upcycled sheet and was naturally dyed with black tea. It includes a rounded cinching element for a unique way to raise the hem as well as cinching sleeves. The jacket is made of an upcycled blanket and sheet and is naturally dyed with walnut and black tea.
The jacket is reversible with both the front and back having the capability to unbutton and can be worn inside out. The button trims are made from secondhand metal, shell, coconut husk and wood. The jacket’s large sleeve silhouette is inspired by oversized tunics and the sleeves being drawn back by the straps of bags being carried by back. The undershirt is made of a secondhand, pleated linen material.
